PNPBaby (or Primm n Proper Baby) is my baby. While born in 2007 out of our own need for a trim yet absorbent cloth diaper for our youngest child, PNPBaby has blossomed into so much more than just diapers.
Our multi-gen family lives on an acre in Eastern, WA. We have a huge garden space that I'm learning to tend (so much to learn, lol) and we aspire to raise bees, composting worms, and use our back acre for other locally desired grown items. I may have a chicken addiction and yoga pants and leggings make me happy. Also, if you see my in person, I invented the 'messy mom bun' back in like jr. high and have rocked it consistently for the last two decades. ;) I voluntarily consider myself to be a Crunchy Christian.
Our family has had an interesting journey over the last 13 years - hubby and I went into foster care at 22/24 and promptly found ourselves with 3 kiddos. We ended up adopting one of the original three and later adopted a half-sibling and an infant. We have had more than our fair share of struggles - attachment disorders (RAD) and behaviors have been aspects we have had to learn to manage within our life. BUT, we are here! Being a work at home mom has been such a blessing for us as I'm home! *If you're an adoptive family struggling please reach out to me <3 I have online some support groups I can suggest!
I digress... Diapers.... so PNPBaby now envelops the back 700ish square feet of our house. Here is a 3ish min video Sewing Studio Walk Through ;) Yes, we are always a hot mess - its real life. https://youtu.be/ALzqBe1ekbo
So many things in life seem small and trivial. But are they really?
Cloth diapering seems like nothing more to most people until they are IN it. Cloth Diapering can be a wonderful 'gateway drug' to different strategies in life and in parenting - many of which lead parents to feel more successful and at peace. This is so big!!
"So... something my kid poops in will help me find some peace!?"
Yep, it sure can. It won't for all - cloth diapering isn't for everyone and that's okay, but as a mom with two older foster adopted kids who have struggled with reactive attachment disorder I know first hand the benefit that simpler, more natural parenting strategies can offer.
The COMMUNITY and acceptance of mamas, papas and families around cloth diaperers is generally very genuine, supportive, and passionate. Parenting is hard already, so if something as simple as cloth diapering and free community cloth diaper education can help parents:
1. Find simpler, less stressful ways of daily life via exposure to more natural parenting strategies,
2. Find their people; their tribe,
3. Encourage all levels of attachment based parenting,
4. Connect to resources,
5. Save money,
6. Reduce chemical exposure to their babies...
I'M SO IN!
